Tangy Hoisin Sauce

WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS
Hoisin sauce is a thick, reddish brown mixture of soybeans, sugar, vinegar, garlic, and chiles used in many classic Chinese dishes. We use it as the base for a sauce for our pork, adding acidity with rice vinegar and aromatic notes from scallion and ginger. The ingredients simply need to be mixed together to create a sauce.
INGREDIENTS
- ½ cup hoisin sauce
- 4 teaspoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 scallions, sliced thin
INSTRUCTIONS
- Mix all ingredients together until smooth.
